FAQ

How long does it take?

Give yourself up to two hours for the plastering process (a good indication is measuring the length of the scrimp according to your size). This way you can relax and do not have to think about the time. Mixing the plaster with water doesn't take long as it dries quickly -- in twenty to thirty minutes. You will have to use either olive oil or Vaseline from your chest down to your belly. You will feel a warm sensation as the plaster dries. As it dries you will start feeling the cast coming slowly away from your body.

Does the plastering hurt?

No, not at all. It is a bit messy. While I plaster your body please do not wear your best underwear as it will most likely be splattered with plaster so showering afterwards is a good idea.

When will I receive my sculptural piece?

It will take me about two months to complete. It has to go through six stages before it is completed as a ceramic piece.

How will I receive it?

You can either collect it or pay for the delivery charges.

How much will it cost?

The sculptural piece is commissioned at £350, not including delivery or travel expenses. You will know the full price of your casting before I start the process.

When should I contact you?

The best time to have a casting made is during your ninth month of pregnancy but please contact me two months in advance so I can schedule an appointment. You can arrange a belly casting appointment with me over the phone or by sending me an email. You can phone me on 01458 834846 or 07968 997803 or email me on avaloncaroline@hotmail.com

Where can I have my belly cast done?

I live in a magical town, the Isle of Avalon in Somerset, better known as Glastonbury. You can either travel to me or I can come to you in the South of England.
